i'm moving back to pittsburgh in december to try it on for size. i'm going to try it on for size because my family lives there......and i do love the heart of pittsburgh. i would love to connect with some interesting, fun, and open minded people. i love black rock city and hope to find some of that love in the 'burg'. any recommendations on where to go dancing, etc.? i am thinking that lawrenceville or regent square might be cool places to live. also, i have been spoiled by some amazing natural surroundings here. any recommendations on clean waters to swim in during the summertime or to get lost in during other seasons?
thanks...........

Re: moving (?) back to pittsburgh after 12 years in northern california
Sat, December 2, 2006 - 11:00 PMYAAAAAAY more burners coming to PGH!
I just moved here - arrived 2 months ago from SF (well, from a year of travel, and before that, SF).
I'm settling in quite well. It's certainly different, as I'm sure you know having family here, but I'm learning to groove on the differences. It's finally turning COLD this weekend, and snow is soon to follow.
As for dancing, I'd love to know. I haven't really done much of that since I arrived! But there are plenty of places to get a good drink and meet some interesting people. The natural surroundings are a bit more immediate here, particularly with the weather being more extreme. We're starting to get out and explore the natural surroundings more, too - it's all so CLOSE! Hooray!
Santarchy (aka Santacon) PGH is on Dec. 9th, in case you're in town. That would be a good opportunity to meet some of the local freaks! Send me a message if you want details.
